Malta Nautical Licence

“From 1st January 2011 a nautical licence is mandatory for drivers of all mechanically driven crafts having an engine or engines with a combined power of 30Hp or more to be driven for pleasure, or tow any person for the purpose of water skiing.”

Sailing School Malta are pleased to announce that we have been approved as a training establishment for the new syllabus.

At present, the COVID restrictions prevent us from running face time courses, so we are taking bookings for online classes

The Basic Seamanship and Safe Boat Handling Course leading to the Malta Nautical License, can be booked by filling in the booking form. The cost of the course is being kept to € 140 per person, and you will need to budget a further € 40 later for the oral exam run by TM (payable to MCAST).

On receipt of the application form and payment of the deposit or full course fee, we will send by email a pdf copy of the course notes for you to read. These are the notes we use in the classroom later.

The course is usually run over a weekend, but can also be run in the evenings during the week. It comprises of both theoretical and practical sessions.

The next course dates are here

The syllabus for the course can be found here.
